Don’t let them see

Image

Wear a mask
Lie, pretend, deceive
Don’t let them close
Don’t let them see
What lies beneath
Your smile
And the reason behind
The tears in your eyes

Don’t let them close
Don’t let them see
Talk about the weather
But not how you really feel
Don’t tell them about your heartache
And how hard it is to breathe

No one cares about you!
It’s convenience
That’s all they seek

You need to bear the pain alone
Muffle your cries in the night
Breathe through your mouth
Just to survive

They don’t care about you
They only seek to please
Their own ego is all
Faking that they care
But they really
DO NOT

Because when the fog of their tainted love is lifted,
It’d be you who’d be withering & worse off.
Not them.
